River is fast-paced, erratic, and driven by emotion. He's easily bored and needs perpetual stimulation to keep his mind busy, lest it will wander to dark places.

He can be a bit of a daredevil with something to prove and loves acting out recklessly in an attempt to feel alive. He's a 'do it now, worry about the consequences later' type of person. Shameless, too. He can overshare and has a dirty mouth. In addition to his own lewdness, there are very few things that might turn him off from another person. He's non-judgemental, open-handed, and adores making other people laugh.

River loves intensely but can stray away if it's not met with that same intensity. Sex and love can be his driving force. This is something he suffers from and a lot of people have had to pay the price for it. River is not inherently good although, he's trying to be. Almost all of River's emotions are intense, and it's very clear whether he's feeling one way or the other, especially with sadness and anger. He lashes unpredictably and lets all of his thoughts be known. Alternatively, if it's in favor of his motives, he'll opt to lie and feign being fine. It doesn't help that he is fickle.

Truthfully, River is very insecure. Growing up torn between two lifestyles, he's had to deal with feelings of inadequesy and felt that his worth was measured in accomplishments and abilities. It's hard to maintain a status when your very existence defies it. To this day, and in spite of his own success, he needs constant validation of his worth.
